White smoke from the exhaust is a symptom of coolant entering the combustion chamber. You have a blown head gasket, cracked head, or both. STOP driving this car immediately. You will destroy the engine if you continue to drive it in this condition.
corsa 1.5 diesel lumpy at start up with white smoke from exhaust returning to normal after a couple of minuets
White smoke at start up is due to moisture in the exhaust or on a diesel it can be normal due to the engine being cold.White smoke at start up is due to moisture in the exhaust or on a diesel it can be normal due to the engine being cold.
possible blown head gasket. I don't get white smoke from my exhaust! is it from yours? If it is just after you start your car it is normal.
White smoke especially when starting tends to indicate that water is finding its way into the the exhaust system, where it is boiling and exiting the exhaust as steam. The possible cause could be water getting into the cylinders (perhaps from a damaged gasket).
My understanding of exhaust smoke is that Blue is oil, Black is unburnt fuel, White is unburnt diesel on cold start. The main question would be, how much smoke and when does it do it?
condensation should evaporate as exhaust system heats up if it continues you may have a leaking head gasket
If it is only at the start of the day and disappears shortly after startup, it is just condensation in the exhaust that is burning off. Pretty normal, especially in cold or rainy weather.
Bad valve seals. Happens to all of 'em!!!
White Smoke from ExhaustA little whitish vapor in the first few seconds after start-up is nothing to worry about; it's condensation being blown out of the exhaust system and will quickly disperse. Smoke that persists, however, is cause for concern. * Black smoke comes from partially burned fuel. This indicates that the air filter or fuel system needs to be serviced.* Blue smoke indicates burning oil is a bad sign. Clouds of blue smoke on start-up may indicate worn valve-guide seals, valves, or piston rings, the latter of which can mean a cylinder-head or engine rebuild is needed.* Billowy white smoke may indicate that coolant is getting into the engine. Another bad sign. This can be a result of a blown head gasket, damaged cylinder head, or even a cracked block. All are expensive repairs.
White smoke in the exhaust means water is being burned in the engine. A small puff of white smoke the first time you start a car in the morning is normal. Water condenses in the intake, and engine and when you firsts start the engine it burns off producing a puff of white smoke. It is nothing to concern yourself with unless the car is constantly blowing white smoke.
oil burning . Condensation.
might have a blown head gasket
