I cut my catalytic converter off of my 1994 dodge Dakota 4x4 and it sounds a little louder and runs easier, but you shouldn't if you're a treehugger. lol, but then you probably wouldn't have a truck anyways, you would have a bicycle, or a Toyota prius.

The easiest way to remove a bypass hose on a Dodge is to cut it off with a sharp knife. The hose is cheap, I replace it with every water pump.
