Why does your 1998 Dodge Durango run rough after pressure washing the engine?

A few possibilities come to mind:
- water has entered the distributor cap. (a little WD40 or silicone spray in the cap will usually evacuate any water from it)
- old spark plug wires can have leaks, either in the boots or the wire insulation that allow water to cause shorts.
- water has somehow entered the combustion chamber(s).
- water is causing a short in some other ignition electrical wiring or connection.
