May need plugs and plug wires, may have a dirty fuel filter, injectors probably need cleaning by a mechanic (such as PrecisionTune). If you install new plugs, DO NOT GAP THEM! They are factory set. You will ruin the platinum coating with a feeler gauge.
Unless you want to lose your $1200 air bag, take it to an authorized mechanic.

For a car to flash warning lights and then lose power, there can be many things wrong. It could have ran out of gas, a wire could have disconnected or shorted out, or a major part like the starter could have gone out.
you have to buy and install adjustable cam gears. but if you adjust it improperly you will lose power/gas mileage.

I had a similar problem in a taurus. I had to replace the alternator.
If you haven't done a tune-up lately (plugs and wires), do it. Do not "gap" the plugs, it will ruin the platinum coating. Install them right from the box.
Can't be certain BUT - - How old is the serpentine belt that drives your accessories (P/S pump - A/C compresser, alternator, etc)? If it is old, it may be glazed and slipping when it is damp or wet causing the P/S pump to lose its pumping ability. Just a thought.
Pry up on the tensioner pulley.
