When my 1998 Kia did this, it was the wheel bearings, inner and outer. Your local car repair shop should be able to check it out for you by putting it on a lift - usually at no cost to you. I am very curious about that also, i have a 2000 or 2001 kia sportage, but it vibrates starting at 60 mph, usually on the interstate.
Could be wheel balance.
because that's its top speed
You will feel the car vibrate around 50-80 MPH
check cv axles, transmission, and tires.
Can you elaborate a little? How do you know it's the transmission? Describe the vibration. Is it only at 45 mph? Does it vibrate when you let off the accelerator?
Tires out of balance, worn driveline, bad tie rod/suspension parts. Sometimes, it is just the pavement causing a vehicle to vibrate.
Can be a bent wheel, tire out of balance, or worn suspension parts.
I have a 2004 Honda Civic. The Speedometer rests at 35 MPH and when traveling at 55 MPH, it reads 85MPH.
unbalanced wheels, or unbalanced/driveshaft good luck
My 2004 kx 85 tapped out sixth gear at 68 MPH
The first thing I would check is for broken motor mounts. This causes the vibration around 40-45 mph. There is a service / recall bulletin about this at Kia.
