Check your tread. Most of the time low tread will do that. Your car's tires dont have to be bald to start sliding. If you used any cleaner on your tread, that could be the issue too. I put black cleaner to make the tires look brand new, and that was a bad mistake. I had to end up getting new tires because they were so treacherous in rain. Take it to a local garage, but only if you trust them. The phrase "My back tires are sliding" sounds like Cha-Ching! to them.

Good luck, and God bless!

Turn the front wheels in the direction the car is teraveling, Let the catch traction and carefully try to get the car stopped. If your on "ICE" and you don't have any type of added grip on the tires like studs or chains then it is unlikely you will regain control after losing traction with all four tires.

How do you drive a 1973 vw bug?

With pride, glee, and 10PSI more air in the back tires than in the front. The air part is the most important - because the engine is hanging off the back of the car, control is gained by putting more tire in the back than in the front. You can either put wider tires back there, like Porsche and Lamborghini do, or blow up the tires harder.
