The tinking sound if it is a light sound is probably the fuel injectors working which is normal but I would check the oil level and make sure it is full first it could be lifters ticking or clattering.

Make sure your battery connection are properly tight and and the corresponding cables are in their right place. If they engine doesn't turn this means your starter is not working or possibly a bad ground connection.
usually in any vehicle when the battery dies if you keep turning the key there will be a ticking sound and since the battery has no power left it wont turn over your engine therefor it not being able to start however if the battery is just fine you got me
