Because it's sensing incorrect pressure. To do this properly don't rely on the built in system - buy g good quality round tire gauge and check all your tires at least once a week. -It only takes minutes, but may save your life.
Check your owners manual it will say, also the sidewall of the tires will say. I would say 35psi Paul from canadaNEVER look at a tire sidewall for pressure numbers! Different car models require different pressures. A tire can be placed on many different models, so how can a tire tell you what pressure YOUR car should have? CHECK THE OWNERS manual or inside the door sides or the glovebox for your car's pressure. THE ONLY TIRE PRESSURE LISTED ON A TIRE TELLS YOU THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE THAT THE TIRE CAN TAKE --IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOUR CAR REQUIRES.I consulted the user manual for my '93 Geo Prizm, and it said "Geo does not make tires...check the information supplied by the TIRE MANUFACTURER!" I could not find any info on the door posts...HUH?Open the glovebox and look at the sticker in there. Odd spot I know... If you have the 175's on it says 29psi front and rear.
it has to say on the tire it should say something like MAX tire pressure 32(PSI) on most passenger cars thats the tire pressure but just to be sure check your tire
depending on the tire it is usually around 32 to 34. Check the tire side wall it should say there.
air pressure helps on the inside of a tire but on the outside it does not usually help. as an observation if you get a flat tire and put air inside the tire it gives pressure on the inside were the hole is but if it is on the outside and lets say a pipe rolls down the highway and it hits your tire air pressure helps it make a hole in it or make it flat.
Should say desired pressure on tire in tiny numbers
It is probably warning you of low tire pressure. Many vehicles now have a system that senses when the tire pressure is low. On my vehicle it is the "tire pressure warning system".
Proper Tire pressures for Your vehicle should be listed on the door jamb on the Drivers side of your vehicle..the listing for the Max pressure your tire will hold is listed on the sidewall of the tires. but is NOt the same as the recommended pressure for Your vehicle..YOu Always go with the one thats listed on the car..Not the tire..(Personally i find you get a smoother ride if you run the tires a cpl pounds lighter.. say 2-3lbs less..esp in trucks.)
If you look inside your car door there is a sticker. The sticker will say various specs on it which are useful for tire maintenance, like the pressure you want and how big your tires are.
40-44 psi read the pressure requirement on the tire itself written on the tire close to the edge of the rim . it will say so many lb's. at so much pressure
40 psi typically. The owners manual will tell you and so will the internet and if your tires are not too dirty or totally destroyed it will say right on the side of the tire. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check the sticker on the end of the driver's door - it gives information on tire size and recommended inflation pressures - the inflation pressure shown on the side of the tire is the absolute maximum inflation pressure. (Helpfull)
You can check in the driver's door jam (where the door hinge is) where a sticker will give you the correct pressure. Most likely, it will say 2.4 bar (35psi)
Read the spec on every tire you purchase, they all say what you need to have. Each tire is different. The print is is very small near the rim.Answer35 PSIAnswer 3As you are running the stock tire size the recommended tire pressures from the factory can be found on a sticker inside the trunk lid.Hope this helps."G"Like Answer 3 says, the spec is in the trunk. Anyone who believes the tire manufacter knows the car's recommended pressure, should take an automotive maintenance course. The spec on the tire is the "maximum" tire pressure, not the car's specification.
