Why does your dog stretch all the time?

Probably the same reason people stretch when the wake up: their muscles are stiff from not moving for a period of time.

Basically, the answer above is correct. When a dog wakes up, the kind of stretching it does is called "pandiculation". By lengthening it's body after waking up (where the dog may have been curled up) the brain resets muscles that were contracted, allowing full range of movements.

I have 4 dogs, and all of them stretch at some time or another... However, if your dog is ALWAYS stretching, it could be a number of things, including 'twisted gut'. This is a common problem, and comes from excersising your dog after they've eaten. Now I walk all my dogs first, then feed them - I've also been told this would not only take away the risk of twisted gut but also what they used to do in the wild (ie, go out, hunt and then sleep...) Best thing is to get them to the vets, just to put your mind at rest. Hope this helps! x

Snakes stretch usually next to their prey in order to see if it can fit when consuming it.
There are many statements where a pet snake would stretch next to it's master, meaning that it sees him/her as their next meal.

Dogs stretch for the same reasons that humans stretch - to relax or just feel good. They enjoy lounging as much as we do.

it keeps on stretching because it needs to because if not, it won't be able to do the things it needs to do every day like run around and other things

Why do dogs stretch when you are speaking to them?

For one if you are talking to a dog and they stretch it simply just means they think you are playing and when they bow like that that means theyre being playful. But they might also do this if you are scolding them they do it for mercy and might even roll on theyre back. Now keep in mind that all dogs are diffrent and might not all stretch when you talk to them. Kathy

Can you fight a ticket for walking poodle without leash at 530am?

What's to fight? If the law requires a dog be on a leash, the time of day doesn't matter. i have always follow the regulations. There is no dog park nor dog run in near by the playground. so where can my dog run to stretch her legs. When i used to live in Manhattan i never got fine. i always curb my dog and walked her in park where she can run before 9 am. what i don't understand is that i picked a time when absolutely no one is outside. it would be fair if there is a place for my poodle to run and stretch. i would gladly pay the ticket.
