A guinea pig might bite for several easons. The most obvious is that it feels threatened, or it is scared. If you wake it up or make sudden moves, it might bite you thinking you're a predator. It might also have young, in which it would protect them by any means necessary. If you just recently got it, that could also be the reason: it doesn't know you. If this is the case, give it some delicacies like fresh fruits or organic yogurt, while making sure it gets your scent. Your guinea pig probably feels threatened and bites to protect itself. Give him/her a couple of days to get used to you. Start small with gently petting him, offering him vegetables. He'll warm up to you. When you hold him, use both hands so he doesn't think you are going to drop him. Good luck.
They usually only bite when they are startled or scared.
Guinea pigs only bite you if you are mean to them, hurt them or if you put your finger right under their mouth. Guinea pigs are nice animals, so they will not bite you if you take good care of them. They might accidentally bite you if you're feeding them by hand because they could miss their target (the food) and nibble your finger. But that's OK. Hopefully you will forgive them!
There could be a couple of reasons. One, he may just want out. Guinea pigs are very energetic, and they need to be able to run around and play. If he is pinned up for several hours at a time, he needs to be let out. Another possibility is his teeth. As with all rodents, their teeth are always growing. They need to gnaw them back. Make sure they have rough things in their cage to gnaw down. Whatever it is, will be destroyed. Don't put anything in there that you wanted to keep. There are tons of cheap toys at the pet store made just for this purpose.
These little creatures do not spit. Camels and llamas spit. If your pig spits it has a bad habit.
Yes the other answers right but if guineas or hamsters do they are normally not used to you (this goes for any animals) you should spend time with them.
Yes,but only if you hold them the wrong way or, wile feeding them they (by mistake) bite you. But some times they bite you because they are really mean in some ways and dont like to be held
They are not always biting. Sometimes they are grooming eachother. Sometimes guinea pigs give eachother a little nip but that isn't very often.
It's a sign of affection
i think they dont cuz my guinea pigs dont and guinea pigs and hamsters are alot alike i think they dont cuz my guinea pigs dont and guinea pigs and hamsters are alot alike
Did u know how guinea pigs and hamsters alike
I wouldn't say that either is better then the other but guinea pigs are more calm. also hamsters are most likely to bite some people say but they only bite if they are scared so if you don't scare them they won't bite simple. but also hamsters are actually lower in price and don't need that much room which is a plus on their side but they are also nocturnal and guinea pigs are awake during the the day and sleep at night. Another thing is that hamsters are more active then guinea pigs so they tend to run around a lot more but this is not true for all hamsters . guinea pigs on the other hand are mostly not that active but again this is not true for all guinea pigs . but something that is for fact guinea pigs must have another to lie with they can not live alone but with hamsters on the other hand they can live alone but then again that is not really good because if you try to put to hamsters in the same cage your looking for a fight. also if guinea pigs escape they are easier to catch.
they are guinea pigs
both guinea pigs and hamsters can be very active although hamsters only at night, guinea pigs tend to be more playful and enjoy the company of people more.

Guinea pigs are generally well-tempered and do not bite often. They do bite if they have need, though not nearly as much as the smaller rodents like hamsters of mice. If you bother them when they desire solitude or read their behavior incorrectly, they will bite with good reason.
because guinea pigs are aggressive
