He could be leading the woman on and it's easier to have a relationship by email than actually seeing each other in person (but there is a possibility they are if she lives in the same city or town.) He wants his cake and eat it too ... he wants to be with you, yet have this other woman on the side so, he double cheating and a waste of skin!
You should be shocked at yourself for putting up with this. Even if all they do is talk and titillate each other by email it's still a form of cheating.
Time to tell your husband you have had enough and then kick his butt out! If he refuses to leave then see a lawyer and have him removed. If you are unsure you want a divorce then go for a separation.
