There are many things that could make your computer to overheat, here are a couple of questions
- Poor ventilation - a bad fan, or a defective one. That, plus using the computer at a higher than normal capacity (like for example running a game) - Good computer ventilation, however with the computer placed in a closed space - a P3 could be successfully placed in a closed desk. However, placing a P4 in a similar space will make it to overheat.
Also check to see if your machine is extremely dirty, clogged with dust and dirt. If you have any pets watch out for pet hair and dust blocking vents. The notebook is overheating when is too much dust on fan blades or the air channel is stucked.I have the same problem too , my Asus F3SG CPU/GPU were overheating up to 95 degrees C in load and in idle the temp were about 70-75. Now after cleanup the temp in idle is about 40-50 (50 at High Performance) and in load 65-70.
Windows 7 does not specifically cause a computer to overheat. Overheating is almost always the cause of improper cooling design, overclocking, or bad power settings. An older processor may generate a lot of heat if subjected to a high load, which Windows 7 (and any application / operating system) can do. However, if the heat itself is causing problems, it is still the result of a physical problem, and NOT the operating system. It also depends on the computers RAM. A low RAM, means it could over heat, also dont put anything next to the fan or it will overheat
sometimes your laptop gets overheated like mine right now because your using it to much. stop using it alot and it will get better. a faster way to cool it down is if you get a screen saver. so remember, dont let it break down!
The older a laptop gets, the faster it heats up when using it. Check the vents for dust, and make sure the fan is working consistently. You may also want to invest in a cooling stand or cooling pad.
It is most likely overheating.
Overheating is mainly caused by dust in the cooling fan. Turn the laptop off and blow into the fan vent to see if any dust comes out. If it does, then it's possible that your fan is clogged with it. You might be able to blow the dust out through the vent, but in serious cases it may require a technician to take it apart and give it a proper dust-down. You should never use a laptop in bed or leave it on surfaces made of fabric, as the dust generated by fabrics blocks the fan.
Try not to cover the fan while using it either. This is difficult for most laptops as the fan is underneath it. You can raise the laptop off the surface a little by cutting an eraser into 4 chunks and placing them under the laptop to hold it up, allowing more air flow (erasers are good for this because rubber is a bad heat conductor). You could also try buying a cooling stand for your laptop to sit on.
Laptops will overheat when the cooling system has either not been designed properly, or has suffered some sort of malfunction, such as the fan becoming clogged or the vent obstructed.
if your laptop over heats it might lose some memory if it gets that over heat!
Not every laptop owner is aware of the fact that an overheated laptop can lead to burn hazards. Working with a hot laptop in your lap for long hours can cause male infertility. The hardware components in a device which gets overheated frequently can fail quicker than your expectations. Few of the vital hardware components are memory modules, motherboards, video cards and hard drives. If you are still not aware of all the risks of an overheated laptop, get in touch with a professional offering laptop and computer repair service. Not only will they take the necessary steps to cool the laptop but also try to prevent the device from becoming overheated in the future.
because it is using electricity
Advantages: The Dell Inspiron 600M is lightweight (5.6lbs) for a laptop released in 2003. It also has a roomy, sturdy keyboard. Disadvantages: The motherboard gets overheated quickly. The battery life is somewhat short.
Any animal can be overheated, just not too often.
because it's been overheated and damaged.
Engine may seize if overheated to that extreme
In such case you should contact your service center. Your laptop probably has some kind of failure, maybe its cooling system doesn't works properly and a processor or motherboard chipsets are overheated.
Here is the problem: When building on Roblox, the battery only last like 15 minutes, thus I keep it plugged in while playing. Its a Dell laptop with Windows Vista. It overheated worse than normal about an hour ago, turning white before shutting down, and taking about five tries to get it running again. I've had this laptop for only about a year. When I got it, it would overheat regularly. Then I got a cooling pad and it stopped doing it. Then the cooling pad broke about 3 months later, and I haven't been able to get a new one. Since the cooling pad broke, its not only overheated a lot, but it also crashed, due to a worn out hard drive. I replaced the hard drive, saving some documents. But it still overheats, and its making me mad. When it overheated today, it only lasted 10 minutes of me building. Is there a solution?
You bring it to vet and tell them that it is overheated and than they will do somthing to him Poor Schnauzer :(
