Although I have little experience in this area, my theory is that some issue is keeping your dog from drinking, and that has gone on for long enough that he/she has developed a dry mouth, a sign of dehydration. But in conclusion, I have no idea what triggered this. It sounds like your sheltie has a health problem (could be a gastrointestinal issue) and needs to be taken to the vet directly, if only to get some fluids into him/her.
if you drink it it wont wet ur mouth so yes and noo
Get a drink.
yes it does but if you are used to smoking alot you probably wont
Your mouth gets dry when enough fluids are not taken.. so try and drink more. Water is the best option!
- Water doesn't make your mouth dry. The fact that you are dehydrated makes your mouth dry. If you are really thirsty drink Luke warm water as it is easier for your stomach to digest and will hydrate you quicker. - Adding electrolytes to the water helps. Add lemonade or tea powder to water, otherwise you can drink water until you are dizzy, yet your mouth is still dry. - Breathing through the mouth is a frequent cause of a dry mouth. This can be a habit, or caused by congestion and narrowing of the nasal passages.
Some of the reasons you get dry mouth is most of the time you get real thirsty you drink more water and medications can cause you to have dry mouth sometimes it can get really bad. What i do is take a drink to bed put it where you can reach it cause you can wake up with a dry mouth so theses ideas should help.
the cause of dry mouth could be a couple different things. One if you have alot of fillings then that could cause dry mouth so gum will help but not take it away. Also if you are dehydrated you could have dry mouth. Drink plenty of water and that could help with the dry mouth. Hope this helps.

Mouth may be dry if you are taking certain pain killers. A lot of medications will cause dry mouth. Drink a lot of water
Your mouth gets really dry and its hard to drink water.
I would not recomend putting anything in your mouth that will increase the poteintial for sensitivity or pain to your dry socket. The dentist that you see should have dry socket paste to apply for you. Try your best to keep your mouth free of cold air, and do not drink from a straw, smoke any cigarettes ,spit forcefully,or swish your mouth when brushing your teeth.
