There are many reasons such as how to get it there and the main problem is the pressure of the air on mars, if it did land then the lense would crack within seconds and a cracked microscope is no good

How come NASA has not gone to Mars?

Actually, NASA has had several missions to Mars, just none manned as yet.

When did NASA discover mars?

You must be American. Just a wild guess.

When was the rover invented?

The Mars Rover was created in the early 2000's and made its first trip to Mars in 2003. The Mars Rover is just one of NASA's many projects to explore Mars.

Does Mars have a suitable surface to live on?

yes, it will be harsh but NASA reckon they may have a colony on Mars by 2300 AD ,aybe earlier, it will just have to be an artificial eco-system .

How does NASA explain the face on Mars?

The "Face" on Mars that was captured by early space probe Viking 1 in 1976, was again captured by NASA's Mars Global Surveyor in 1998, using HD cameras. It shows that it's just a natural rock mesa formation. You can view a HD pic of it at the link below.

Does the song just the way you are by Bruno mars have onomatopoeia?

Is Mars rocky or smooth?

Pretty Rocky, and astronauts and NASA think in the span of about 20 years, they will be able to send an astronaut there. Clearly rocky. Just by googling pictures on Mars you see several rocks and such as the surface.

Did Barack Obama shut down nasa?

No, not at all. President Obama didn't shut down NASA. He just asked them to shut down another voyage to the moon, since we have already been there. He asked them to focus on a future trip to Mars instead. NASA is alive and well and the space program is in no danger of being shut down.

Why was the NASA shuttle program shut down?

NASA is shutting down the space program because the ISS (international space station) will no further need any assistance. NASA also has completed it missions with the space shuttle program just like it is done with Apollo. But this does 100% mean that NASA is not shutting down. Their are many other missions that future astronaut's will discover. Such as the Constellation Program, and mission to Mars.

Can someone explore Mars?

In theory it is possible for people to explore mars. NASA or any other country just doesn't see the point though. They've already sent out robots to do the exploring instead of risking men's lives. In the future they are planning to set up a colony on the moon and if it works well then on mars too. Until then well just have to stay on Earth.<br>

Will astronauts ever go on Mars?

NASA is working on their best to discover new things about our Solar System, and right now their main focus is on Mars. And they are currently doing the NASA Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity. So give it time, and be patient, because first we need to know about this planet. And as a side-note, think how far a way Mars is from Earth. Mars's average distance from Earth is 78 341 212 kmaway. And the amount of light years Mars is away from us is about:0.00000076051 (light years)(Now remember that because Earth and Mars have different orbital paths, the amount of light years can vary. By the way I got how many light years from this same site and it's a longer answer so if you want to know more about light years between Earth and Mars, I suggest you either search 'How many light years away is Mars from Earth?' or just visit NASA homepage.)So if we ever do enter Mars's strange atmosphere, like all other planets, how will it end up? What will we see? That's why we have the NASA Mars Exploration Grover Opportunity doing all that for us, answering all of our questions. For now, please leave it to the experts. :)

Is mar bigger than earth?

Short Answer:Earth is quite a lot larger than Mars.Detailed Answer:Here are the specific numbers that you can find on the NASA website.1. Mars is about half the diameter of Earth.Diameter of Earth is 12,756 kilometers.Diameter of Mars is 6,792 kilometers.Diameter ratio of Mars to Earth (6,792/12,756) = .5322. The volume of Mars is about 15% (less than 1/6 th) of the volume of Earth.Volume ratio of Mars to Earth (6,792/12,756)^3 = .1503. Even for its size, the mass of Mars is even smaller, being just over one tenth the mass of Earth.Mass of Earth is 5.97 x 10^24 kg.Mass of Mars is .642 x 10^24 kg.Mass ratio of Mars to Earth (.642/5.97) = .107The data for all the planets and various moons is on the NASA website.
