If the battery is disconnected there is probably a code that needs to be entered before it will work again. Check the glove box, or the owners manual for the radio code. If it is the radio that came with the car the code should be somewhere in the paperwork.
Anytime a battery cable is removed from the battery the radio will need to have the clock reset and the radio stations re-programmed. (Helpfull)

Could be a dead battery. Put your headlights on and go out front and look at them. If they are not on or very dim you may have a dead battery or dirty/loose battery connections.
