I was not aware of this but it is possible the products used on the hair or head causes a natural aversion. It is not true that washing daily doesn't help, my kids have all had head lice they caught at school at one time or another, but none of us ever caught it from each other even when my daughter came home from school every day for a week with adult lice caught from the child next to her who was covered. Every morning she went to school clean. I removed her from school until they figured out where it was coming from.
