Well, to begin the Kurds are really brave and the are the the largest ethnic group without a country. They fought so many times for their autonomy but they failed and now they are over 25 million people the 4 million of them are in north of Iraq and by their braveness and so many effort they established a Kurdistan Federal region and its lead by Mr. Masud Al-Barzani. The other Kurds are in Turkey, Iran, and Syria and they don't have autonomy yet.

They do not have a state because their lands have been stolen by greedy Arabs, Turks and Persians. These countries have little interest in the realization of a Kurdish Dream and no Western Country has openly backed a Kurdish Resistance to the point of success.

Though in Iraq, the northern part has autonomy, the area in between the rest of Iraq and north Iraq, despite having a Kurdish majority after a failed Arabization campaign, is not part of autonomy. Syrian president Assad, in a show of thanks for Kurdish help has allowed Kurds to take over the northern part. Kurds and Persians are ethnically and linguistically related, in Turkey, the 10-30 million Kurds there are yet to be liberated from oppressive Turkish rule.

Kurds have historically inhabited regions within countries like Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. The borders of these countries were drawn by colonial powers without considering Kurdish aspirations for statehood. The lack of a unified Kurdish leadership and geopolitical complexities in the region have also hindered their ability to establish an independent nation.

Why do the Kurds seek their own country?

Kurds seek their own country because they have a distinct ethnic identity, culture, language, and history. They have faced oppression, discrimination, and marginalization in the countries where they reside, particularly in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. The desire for autonomy and self-determination stems from a long history of seeking recognition and rights as a distinct people.

Where do kurdish people live?

Kurdish people live in a country called Kurdistan. Even though some maps dont show kurdistan it is a country. Kurdistan is made up of four parts, Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria. Saddam Hussain tortured the kurds for many many years. Type in kurdish genocide and you will get the details. The kurdish flag is red, white, green and gold. Kurdistan is famous for its beautiful mountains (Zagros mountains) and Peshmerga (Soldiers). Im not kurdish so I dont know to much buts its country worth reading about and even visiting. Let me give a better one; Kurdish people live in Iraq/Iran/Turkey/Syria and even some live in Armenia There are also many Kurds in Europe. Kurds are fighting for their own country, they are fighting for their own historical land, they do not have a country yet, so the the guy before me was wrong. The land that Kurds claim as theirs, are historically Kurdish land. Those who fight for Kurds are called Peshmerga's, my father was a Peshmerga.
