It's rare to see a depiction of a human figure (or any creature excluding plant-life) in modern Islamic art since it's widely considered a sinful expression of idolatry. To idolise a being other than Allah is considered blasphemous by many. That's why Islamic art is usually focused on patterns and calligraphy.
This is a reason for some Muslims to not draw angels.
An alternate reason may be that the traditional depiction of angels in the Western Hemisphere is strongly associated with Christianity and not Islam and a Muslim may feel they are endorsing the symbolism of a religion they don't follow by drawing one.
Some Muslims, however, would have no problem with drawing angels.
