The animals do not like Moses' stories about Sugar-candy Mountain because it makes them believe in something other than the revolution and that no matter what they do they will have a perfect resting place meaning they do not have to improve their current life. Moses signifies a preacher and Sugar-candy Mountain is Heaven.

Moses represents the Russian Church. They don't like him preaching about a paradise after the animals die because if there is one, they have no reason to rebel while they're still alive.
