Well, apart from the obvious, which is they create, grow and nurture and give birth to every living human that has ever walked the earth! Including MEN - Although we are trying to adjust the design so we don't create these inferior specimens - Every invention has teething problems!! And before you guys jump on your high horse and say that we need a man to create them, so wise up! That may have been the case in years gone by, but you are becoming obsolete! Sperm banks are full! And seeing as a little splat of about a teaspoon of liquid is ALL you contribute to the whole process of conception, nine months of gestation and giving birth, not to mention feeding etc, I think you're on very thin ice guys!

Anyway, as I said, apart from the obvious, but connected to the obvious, it was a woman who invented disposable nappies.

THE MOST ASTOUNDING FEMALE INVENTOR, Marie Curie who invented X-Rays and the radium and polonium from them that ultimately was tweaked to create radiotherapy which is one of the most effective methods of obliterating cancer - THAT'S QUITE A BIGGY - You guys are nowhere NEAR finding a cure for cancer! Incidentally she is also a hero as (because she wasn't initially aware of the dangers of repeated exposure to radiation in her experimentation and in perfecting the procedure, she paid the ultimate price and died from a complication that arose from severe radiation poisoning. She was also the only PERSON (not just female - the only person) that had won two Nobel Peace Prizes before her death! One in Chemistry and one in Physics - TOP THAT STEPHEN HAWKINGS!!

Gertrude Elion was also very important as she invented the first two successful drugs for treatment of Leukemia and Imuron which is a drug that stops the new kidney from being rejected after a transplant! Oh, and Zovirax for cold sores and herpes infections!

Life rafts - in 1882, so they probably saved a lot of people from the Titanic! Would have been even more if the ship's owner and builders had put enough of them on board

Papoose - baby carrier so you can strap the infant to your chest - The lady who invented this also adapted the design so that now people with emphysema and the like who need to be hooked up to breathing apparatus / oxygen machine, don't have to be tied down to a fixed oxygen supply and carry oxygen cylinders
