im am not sure if this is correct or not but my guess is its a matter of mass for example is a ball with a mass of 5 is hit by an object with the mass of 10 it will not completely cancel out the force of the ball with 10 mass it will decrease the speed please make your question a bit more specific if this doesnt answer it
