Enclosed bays tend to have high salinity
Lakes usually have the least variation in salinity.
Estuaries are partially enclosed bodies of water where ocean salt water and fresh water mix. Estuaries vary in salt content. When tides rise, their salinity rises. When the tide falls, the estuary has a lower salinity. Some estuaries are protected and are not affected as much as others.

changing in Water Salinity.
changing in Water Salinity.
they experience both salt water and fresh water regularly
Trees that can grow in salty water, like the mangrove, which grows freely along the coast in some areas.
They're the mouth of rivers, where the water can be either salt or fresh depending on the tides. Lots of things (plants and animal) live there and the ancestors of ALL land animal lived there about a half billion years ago. Note that there are animals and plants that live in the sea that never had anything to do with estuaries, and couldn't care less for their existence. But many of the animals that you are familiar with (like birds) use estuaries as breeding grounds.
Salinity varies within the estuary and depend on other factors such as tides. Estuaries are essentially where freshwater from rivers, streams, etc, meet with saltwater from the ocean. The range of salinity within an estuary is typically between 0-25ppt, and that is between where the mouth of the river ends on to where the ocean begins. PPT stand for parts per thousand, just in case you did not know.
Bull Sharks are around 70 cms at birth. That is 27 inches or so in length. They grow to full size in around 10 years. Young ones are born live and with the ability to swim. Coastal lagoons, river mouths, and other low-salinity estuaries are common nursery habitats for bull sharks.
