By default in Windows Vista and Windows 7, you need to double click to open any file or folder. But some may prefer to open the files and folders using a single mouse click. So how to change double click to single click mouse selection in Windows?Go to My Computer -> Press Alt in the Keyboard and you will see the File and Edit menu. Select Folder Options from the Tools menu.Under the General tab, change the Click items as follows from Double-click to open an item (single-click to select) to single-click to open an item (point to select). You can also change the settings to underline the icon titles always or only when you point at them.Click Apply and Ok to make the changes. Now you can use single click using mouse to open files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Double click on the Date column header.
This may not be the complete solution but I had this problem and adapted to it this way. 1. Open Windows Explorer 2. Click Tools -> Folder Options 3. In the General Tab, select the following in "Click items as follows" - Single click to open an item (1st option) and underline icon titles only when i point at them (2nd sub option) 4. Click Apply 5. Click OK Why this is better? Dragging your mouse will select items Single click (acts as Double click) will open the items As a result, you can be sure of whether it is single click or double click rather than RANDOM double clicks UNEXPECTADLY (Annoying to the Core !!) A single click with a mouse on a Mac is used to select an item. Mac OS X does not support a single click to open a folder/file in the way the Windows operating system can be customised to do. However applications located in the Dock are launched with a single click and there are keyboard shortcuts for most operations, such as pressing the Command and O keys to open folders or launch applications., without the use of the mouse.
