Why hajj is a main pillar of Islam?

Hajj is not the main pilalr of Islam, rather it is the fifth one and could not even be performed if a Muslim is not capable to do so mentally, physically or financially and will not be accounted for.

Here are the pillars of Islam organized according to importance:

1- Saying the Shadat: (Obligatory to become Muslim)

The main pillar of Islam is the Shahadat: to say "Ashhadu An La Ilaha Illa Allah Wa Ashhadu Anna Mohammadan Rasoulo Allah "I bear twitness that Allah is one and bear witness that prophet Mohammed is his messenger". If you say this shada from your heart you become a Muslim "believer". This is mental and passtionate related to Mind and Heart.

2- Praying 5 times a day: (Obligatory) 7 years and above.

Now! this shadat needs practice to prove it using body organs. to do the prayers.

Now comes the Second Pillar of Islam: "the Salat or "5 prayers daily"

Shadat needs to be certified and proved by performing the daily 5 prayers: "Fajr" before dawn, "Dhuhr" Noon, "Assr" After noon, "Magrib" after sunset and "Isha" after the son reddish vanishes from the sky.

3- Payment of Zakat: Charity to the poor. (Obligatory - quarum and above)

2.5% of your funds annually or other percentages of goods and foodstuffs...depending on their type such as animals... etc. and whether the plants or animals costed you any money "for food or drink or not".

4- Fasting the month of Ramadan: (Obligatory if capable - 7 and above)

From dawn prayer call till sonset time. During fasting, Muslims do not eat or drink anything or practice sex.

5- Hajj the fifth and Last pillar of Islam: (Obligatory if physically and financially capable only).

Hajj becomes obligatory when you are physically and financially capable to do so. If not it is not required from you whethen male or female. One more condition on women, she cannot travel a lone to Hajj or to any where without a Mahram "some one who cannot marry like father, brother, uncle, grandfater). So, even if she is capable physically and financially but not having a Mahram, she is not obliged to do, rather she may not do it untill she has a Mahram.

Other practices Muslim do like Omra to Makkah "circulation around Kabba" and voluntary prayers, fasting, omra, hajj and all similar good deeds.

In Islam, prayers to prayers, Omras to Omras, Ramadan to Ramadan and Hajj to Hajj forgive all sins committed in between so long they are not major such as "killing, adultry, impiety to parents, running away from Jihad .. etc. 10 major sins". These require special repentance and never go back again to it (son long not discovered) but discovered, penalties will be applied of couse.

Because you can ask Allah for forgiveness. Its changes your totally for example:

• you become more respectful than before
• you are more aware of Allah
• you become more independent
• you become more truthful
• you pray all the five salah
• you always care about your family than before
