The US has not done ANY of the things alluded to in the question.

However, socialism was more popular in the United States prior to the 1920s because, for the most part, labor unions were illegal and collective bargaining was illegal. In the face of such a strong laissez-faire system, many Americans were polarized towards socialism as an alternative method for gaining their rights. In the 1900s, and 1910s, the Progressive Movement granted many of these requests and, therefore, took much of the wind out of the sails of the socialist movement. Socialism resurfaced in the 1930s as a solution to the Great Depression. With the onset of the Cold War in 1950s, socialism became strongly associated with the Soviet Union and, therefore, was negatively viewed. This negative perception of socialism has endured since the fall of the Soviet Union since cultural attitudes endure longer than the reasons they were developed.

Did Vladimir Lenin believe in capitalism?

No, he was against the idea of capitalism and in favor of socialism. Ironically, when the Russian economy failed after the Russian Civil War, Lenin turned to aspects of capitalism in his New Economic Policy in order to improve the economy. Most other Bolsheviks were dead set against the NEP.

When some African leaders turned to socialism to repair the damage done by colonialism they?

Because they associated capitalism with colonial rule and thought that socialism was more in line with native African traditions. At the time a number of African Countries ceased being European colonies and became independent, they became independent of socialist nations. They chose the government of their mother country.Frequently, since they did not have a tradition of self government, they chose to use the book Leviathan by Thomas Hobbs. This made the president an emperor.

What two reasons did Korean's change their way of life In the last century?

The Korean War would have to be the biggest change. North Korea changed towards totalitarian socialism and South Korea turned to democratic capitalism. Living in the north is to live in poverty, while living in the south is to live in excess. There can be no bigger contrast or change than that.

Who brought the government of communism to Russia?

That was Lenin's goal but after he died Stalin took over and killed many people because he wanted socialism. Lenin did not change Russia into a communist state. He changed it into a socialist sate. This was his purpose all along regardless of the fact that Stalin turned everything into a totalitarian dictatorship. According to Karl Marx, the capitalist society would become a socialist one first, then after generations of socialism it would evolve into communism. Communism is not something that can be imposed on any society, but socialism is. Lenin wanted to start that process so after his revolution he abolished all aspects of capitalism in favor of socialism. Although they called it socialism, it was a very poor imitation of what Karl Marx envisioned. In fact, even calling it an imitation of socialism is going too far.
