Using an enzymatic cleaner such as a high quality laundry powder mixed with water will help to break down the proteins, neutralize the ammonia and remove most of the residue. Keep in mind enyzmes take time to break down protein so you may have to figure out a way to soak the area. After it dries only time will break down the proteins and thus the smell completely.
