Most of these Caribbean islands are not financially wealthy enough to provide for themselves in an economically effective way. As a result, they would rather have the British government provide a stable economy, good jobs, good sanitation, and other things rather than tough it out on their own like many other Caribbean countries do.
The countries were never owned by England. They were part of the British empire. The Commonwealth only has countries in it that were part of the British empirel It is only the countries that are involved in the Commonwealth that can participate in the games. Some countries that were part of the British empire have chosen not to be part of the Commonwealth, so there are some countries that were in the British Empire but are not part of the Commonwealth and so they do not participate in the games.
Britain no longer has colonies. Most of the 50 plus original members of the British Empire are now part of the Commonwealth of Nations but are completely independent countries, although a few (Australia, Canada, New Zealand and one or two others) have chosen to retain Queen Elizabeth II as their Head of State.
Not any more. Canada is an independent country although it has chosen to retain Queen Elizabeth II as Head of State. It is also one of 52 countries that are part of the British Commonwealth of Nations which are mostly countries that used to be in the British Empire.
The were chosen by being delegates in the thriteen colonies. i think they were chosen delegates also.
They preferred a system of direct democracy.
"The only representatives of the people of these colonies are persons chosen therein by themselves and that no taxes ever have been or can be constitutionally imposed on them" is part of the Stamp Act. The conclusion is that the colonist who have no representation in the British government cannot be taxed by England.
Royal colonies were governed by an appointed governor with a lieutenant governor and a chief justice as primary staff members. The Crown also selected a council to serve as the colony's upper house while British leaders promised that an elected lower house would be chosen once the colonies developed a population
They were self governed by chosen governors.
A leader is not chosen in fascist countries but they get power through use of force and end up being dictators.
They are not chosen over British players as such. Clubs choose the best players they can get. Where they come from is not important, their ability is. If a club wants to build a very strong team but only chooses players from one place, then they won't have a great team. Most soccer players are not British, so naturally a lot of non-British players get chosen. If a British player is the best a club can get for the position they are looking to fill, then the British player will of course get chosen, but not because he is British. It would be based purely on his ability.
generally they were chosen by the colonists themselves
