There are a lot of reasons behind this. First of all there are thousands of electronic circuits, lights, air conditioners and if boeings , there are tv screens too behind each seat. So for all these huge current is required.

2ndly, if there is engine failure , to rotate the blades motor is required. And the motor used is a series motor. Because a series motor can produce the required torque rather than the compound or shunt motors. But series motor draws a huge amount of current. That is why huge amount of current is required in an aircraft battery.

What type of electrical current does a notebook require and what device provides this current?

A notebook computer generally requires direct current. This current comes from a battery or a power supply. A battery converts chemicals into electricity, while a power supply or battery charger converts somewhat high voltage alternating current into lower voltage direct current.

What type of current only consists of direct current at a low voltage and high amperage?

battery

What is the effect of high temperature of current carrying capacity of battery?

The higher the temperature of a battery, the faster the chemical reactions in the battery, and the shorter the battery life span.

How do you jump a starter from the battery?

jump out the solenoid or relay. This will close the circuit for the high current.

What is the difference in an industrial battery and an automotive battery?

1-Application differ:auomative battery used for SLI( starting Lighting & Ignition) which draw high current for short time, while Industrial batteries used for stand by application, provide low current for long period. 2-Manufactruing differ.: auto mative battery having thin plate for releasing high current while industrial battery having thick plate for long life.

What are the symptoms of a loose battery terminal?

A loose battery terminal will cause intermittent power supply, high resistance and heating. A high resistance will cause a voltage drop, as more current is drawn from it.

How do you draw 18V current from 24V d.c battery?

You are confusing terms. Current is measured in amps or some fraction thereof. If you have a 24 volt battery (All batteries are DC) you need to connect a load to the battery and then measure the current that flows in the circuit. The current is measured in amps, milliamps or perhaps microamps for a very high resistance load.

Why is lead suitable for a car battery?

Lead-acid batteries are the choice for automotive applications because they are able to supply high surge currents, which means that the cells maintain a relatively large power to weight ratio. Automobile starter motors require high current, which these batteries provide, couple that to a low overall cost and those are the reasons why the lead-acid battery is suitable for our automobiles.

What is bad about airplanes?

Although rare, accidents have a very high chance of fatalities, and planes require a runway (exculding VTOL aircraft) as well as AIRLINE FOOD!

Does a marine have to graduate high school?

The current enlistment standards require a high school diploma. You can get in with a GED. The sophistication of the systems currently used in the military require good reading abilities and the ability to learn these systems.

What is steel good for?

Steel is good for projects that require a high strength and durability. Steel isn't the lightest material around so it isn't great for aircraft missles, race cars and motorcycles. It is however much less expensive than aluminum , titanium and other metals with high strength to weight ratios. Steel also is not good for projects that require high electrical or heat conductivity or that require a high resistance to corrision.

How is electricity form a battery different from a spark of electricity?

The current from a battery is steady and usually at a low voltage. A spark happens when there is a voltage high enough to break down the air molecules, and then a high current flows very suddenly and quickly. A lightning strike could be a million amps but it's all over in about 10 microseconds.
