Answer 1

The early church did not celebrate Christmas. Over time, belief in Jesus spread to non-Jewish people, and eventually the non-Jewish Christians outnumbered the Jewish ones. Roman thinking got mixed into Christian theology, and Christianity moved away from its Jewish roots.

Around 200 AD, people began to associate the birth of Christ with winter solstice festivals, possibly in an effort to make Christianity seem familiar to pagan worshippers. This developed into Christmas, and we still celebrate it today.

By the way, Jesus was probably born sometime in the spring.

Commentary on Answer 1

That is only a theory why Christmas is in winter and it was only a theory that Jesus wasn't born in winter

Answer 2

Jesus Christ was Jewish but by the, now considered, christian people he was the flesh of god. those who didn't believe this remained Jewish giving them no reason to celebrate the birth of a man they didn't believe in

Answer 3

None of the Christian holidays (Easter, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, etc) are Jewish. Christianity was based on a rejection of Judaism which is why Christians celebrate holidays that aren't of Jewish origin.

This question is predicated on an incorrect assumption. Jews do not usually or generally celebrate Christmas. As a result, the proffered rationale (Jesus's Jewishness), need not even be discussed.

Religious Jews ignore Christmas; it is simply not something of any importance to them in much the same way that Christians ignore Hanukkah, Eid al-Adha, or Diwali (which are Jewish, Islamic, and Hindu holidays) because they are not relevant to their tradition.

Liberal Jews in Western countries (especially the US), may celebrate certain aspects of Christmas, contrary to Jewish religious teachings. Some of these aspects may include getting a conifer tree, but labeling it a Hanukkah Bush instead of a Christmas Tree, claiming that Santa will visit homes on Hanukkah to provide presents, saying Merry Christmas instead of "Season's Greetings" or some other religion-neutral expression, etc. However, no Jewish family of which I am aware celebrates anything on December 24th or 25th except a customary trip to the local Chinese restaurant. (Again all of these are counter to Jewish religious teachings.) No Jew recognizes the Christian claims about the alleged miraculous events that took place roughly 2000 years ago concerning Jesus, nor celebrates those at Christmas-time.

Jesus was born Jewish, but he created a new belief, and as such was immediately seen as an outsider by the wider Jewish community. Therefore, we need not celebrate anything connected with him.

Christianity is a different religion from Judaism. Most of the holidays in Christianity celebrate the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ as opposed to celebrating historic Jewish holidays with a Messianic character. As a result, a day like Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus, or Easter, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus exist in Christianity, but not in Judaism.

No more than, let's say, Southern Baptists feel the need to
celebrate Rosh Hashana because Jesus was Jewish.

Does china celabrate christmas?

Some Chinese people celebrate Christmas. I have been to China during the winter and saw many department stores with decorations of Christmas Trees, Santa Claus, and Christmas Tree bulbs. However, since many Chinese are not Christians, they do not celebrate the birth of Jesus on this day. To them, it is just another holiday. Kwanzaa is an African American Holiday, not celebrated in China. Hanukkah is Jewish holiday, only celebrated in China by Jewish tourists and Jewish foreign workers.

What do Jewish people do instead of Christmas?

Jews don't celebrate anything instead of Christmas. This is because Jesus plays no role whatsoever in Judaism, therefore there is no Jewish holiday to celebrate him. Some people mistakenly believe that Channukah is the "Jewish Christmas", however, this couldn't be further from the truth. Channukah celebrates the rejection of forced assimilation, celebrating Christmas would directly violate the meaning of Channukah.
