In order for a substance to be a primary standard it must be able to dissolve in water. Since iodine is unable to do this it cannot be used as a primary standard
i dont know the answer... i was looking for the answer myslef.
Iodine work as a modrant which helps in fixing the stain properly by making a compled compoun of stain and cell wall.
iodine is a substance that has an unusual property, it has the ability to sublimate, this means that it converts directly from a solid to a gas with no liquid stage at all. So no, no iodine will "melt" into a liquid, it will insted turn into a purple gas.

they both sublime, in which the solid particles will change directly into gas.
Literally, the correct formula for potassium and iodine at standard temperature and pressure would be " K and I2". The formula for the compound formed between potassium and iodine, however, is KI.
A "vapor" in chemistry is always the gas phase of a substance that is more familiar in one of its condensed phases: liquid or solid. Therefore, iodine vapor is the gas phase of the element iodine, and has the same molecular composition as the solid, I2. Iodine is a solid at standard temperature and pressure, but sublimes directly to gas phase, without any intermediate liquid phase, at only moderately higher temperatures than the standard.
Under standard conditions of temperature and pressure Iodine is a crystalline solid.
I2(g) is the symbol for iodine in its standard state (including its state symbol.)

When an analyte that is a reducing agent is titrated directly with a standard iodine solution, the method is called "iodimetry". When an analyte that is an oxidizing agent is added to excess iodide to produce iodine, and the iodine produced is determined by titration with sodium thiosulfate, the method is called "iodometry".
The gas iodine will stick to the fingerprints because they will crystallize when they come into contact with a cool surface. When heated, iodine directly changes into vapor.
Carbon dioxide and Iodine both sublime directly from solids to gases.
if you drink iodine just directly from something than its poisonous but if its from anything else, than it must be healthy somehow.
Because it sublimes that is it directly forms into a solid
I believe CO2 has been employed in colonic and angiographic imaging
