Alexander the great is primarily important because of the impact that he had on the ancient world. His conquests brought Greek culture to most of the known world at that time, and ushered in the Hellenistic period, in which Greek culture was dominant. The Persian empire, which had ruled for hundreds of years, was dissolved, and the kingdoms that resulted from Alexander's conquests would largely remain in place until the Roman conquest. The legends of Alexander himself lived on in many cultures and works, and because of his impact, he is probably the most well-known secular figure in ancient history.
Through conquest he created the largest empire known to that time. It reached from Macedonia and Greece to North Africa (Egypt) and east into India.
And did so all by the ripe old age of 33
He is famous because his tactical ability, his conquests, and for spreading Greek civilization into the east.
Because he conquered and ruled so many countries and created a vast empire
He showed, he was creative. Because he shows us some timeless leadership lessons but also some glaring failures
He showed he was intelligent because he figured out his father's horse was scared of his shadow by noticing which way it looked when it was getting scared.
Alexander was great because he started an empire at a young age and was an amazing mili leader, he a lot of other things too. Alexander the Great left a legacy.
