Why is America so full of itself?

President Obama has tried to end this impression. Early in his administration he went around the world on an apology tour, apologizing for American transgressions in the past and has admitted that many of the Worlds problems were cause by the United States. He pointed out the the Christian Crusades were far worse than any acts by those of other faiths. Obama has freed many freedom fighters from Gitmo and has worked to weaken the United States economically, militarily and politically to allow other countries the opportunity to take their rightful place on the world stage.

From your spelling, I think you may be someone from Another Country, rather than the US, and if that is so, it explains your perception. People from other countries often remark that the US seems arrogant or its leaders speak as if they think the USA is better than every other country. Whether that's true or not (and it could be debated-- political rhetoric often includes bragging about one's country and its purported superiority), the fact is that just about ALL leaders from just about ALL countries do this. I have often heard the leaders of countries like Russia or Germany or the UK speaking forcefully about their country's greatness, or claiming that [fill in the blank-- a social problem, a crisis, a failure of leadership that led to tragedy] would never happen in their country.

If you are being fair, expressing pride in one's country is not something you can attribute only to the United States. But perhaps your own country's leaders have used the US as some sort of whipping post, blaming it for the problems in the world or focusing on certain statements some of its leaders have made. As I said, in the bigger picture, what may seem like bragging (expressing pride and stressed your country's exceptional qualities) is a normal part of political communication, and the US does not do it any more or any less than other nations.
