Christians generally believe that Jesus, God bless him and grant him peace, was the son of God, this meaning of course, that Jesus was Himself almighty God. This is regarded by the followers of Islam as akin to saying there are two gods although God is one. Islam is thus in this sense particularly a non-Christian religion since it does not recognize the deity of Jesus Christ, who, although highly regarded does not occupy the place of authority of either Muhammed or the Koran.

He was right. I believe it's considered a 'religion' because people need something to believe in. BELIEVE IN Jesus Christ!
