Why is Fidel Castro evil?

I don't know him personally so I can't tell you whether or not he is, but from a pure political and historical perspective he is a dictator and he did aim nuclear bombs at the U.S.; although, from a historical perspective the U.S. has not always been good towards Cuba either, both politically and economically, so to be fair I think the best thing to say is that he is but mostly because he's a dictator and that in itself is bad.

In fairness to Castro the US where threatening him and tried to kill him on many occasions, so he had a reason for allowing the Russians to aim nukes at the USA. Cuba is one of few countries meeting the WWF sustainable development category. To sum it up, Fidel Castro is taught to be a bad person in America because he challenged their way of government and dared to overthrow a US backed regime just as corrupt as the current one. America does not support democracy, it supports capitalism.

He is a socialist dictator that committed many crimes against the property, rights and liberty of the Cuban people, he killed directly or indirectly around 30.000 Cubans, in political repression or foreign wars, and forced thousands more into exile.

People who say that Fidel Castro is bad usually are of an anticommunist ideology. Like any human, he has good and bad qualities, both as a person and as a political leader. He certainly committed political mistakes, but human rights activists in the eighties extensively researched alleged human rights abuses, and although they did find some, they found far less than in say, El Salvador and Guatemala at the same time,

i don't know about other people, but i don't like him because he has his own people trapped in his island, he doesn't allow them to go live somewhere else, when his regime started many Cubans would go to the guantanamo base(US territory) and get asylum there, so dear fidel put a cactus wall and a mine field so people would stop doing it, also recently a Cuban blogger won an award and the government didn't let him go to New York to accept the award. i think most people hate him because he's a communist and US policy says communism=evil, also during the cold war he allied himself with the soviets and let them put nuclear weapons on his island, which scared the crap out of the US and is the closest we've ever been to nuclear war(Cuban missile crisis) there may be other reasons but i don't really know much else about him

Because hi is an a-s-s-shole, that's why. Every dictator is an a-hole! They think because they did good by their people once before (in the 50's when he took over the country from another greedy a-hole), then he can play his people however he sees fit. Doesn't give them freedom, doesn't give them liberty, free speech, doesn't let them do whatever they want to do etc. He is just an a-hole, period.

Crimes he was known for were that he used guerrilla warfare to overthrow the prime minister, after turning the country into communist Dictatorship he decreed it a crime to come and cut off all trade with America saying Cuba would be self sufficient.
