Hinduism is so varied due to the varied opinions formed or as interpreted by the readers or listeners from the mythological stories or even if we talk of a singleholy book they have various books from vedas, puranas, upanishads or epics viz Ramayana/Mahabhartha Geetha.

The evolution of Hinduism has been so diversified that many a times there have been cross counter on the so called or claimed facts even opposing each other via Arya Samaj who claim themselves to have the best interpretation and Practicing the religion opposes a common Hindu belief of idol worshipping. Even the Upanishads clearly spells out and urge a human to get to the bigger panaroma of wisdom and understanding by knowing the one and only one - the creator of all i.e Brahma thus giving them freedom from the smaller arena of belief and knowledge of gods and goddesses who constantly desire sacrifices by means of ya gs or offerings.

The diversity is so great from East to West or from North to South itself in India that a continuous friction occurs with no body able to justify rather dragging a person to a confused platter and ultimately to a state of uncertainty as to what is right or what is wrong thus following every cult what comes in their way. This has also affected to the diversified customs/rites and rituals even language dissimilarity with no resemblance in itself raises barriers and non adaptability to each other at a major scene.

It's because there are many cultures with their own belief systems. The major religions are wide spread because of their abilities to influence over other cultures over the years either from force conversion, assimilation over the generations, and willing conversions. However, even within the same religion, there are often many variations. This is because everybody has their own interpretations, bias, ect about their beliefs. There often someone influential with a different interpretation who broke off the main group and brought his/her followers along. Over the years, some new group will grow and become a common religion/branch/denomination. You can see this with many Christians sec. It's true with other religions too.

When a person comes to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, God sets that person apart from other people. God bestows righteousness, (Jesus' righteousness) justification, sanctification upon that person and gives them the Holy Spirit to help them live the type of life God wants. To live like God wants makes the Christian different from other persons. Some persons call themselves Christian, but if they are observed for some time you can see that there was only a false profession to Christianity, or as Scripture says, " Therefore by their fruits You will know them" (Matthew 7: 15-20).

God gave the Jewish people laws that set them apart from other persons also and you can still see the differences between some Jewish people and Gentiles.

What ever God sets apart for Himself will be much different or diverse from the rest of the world.

People have different opinions. Also, if God sends us a new messenger, this messenger is not immediately recognized by all people. Unlike some of the miraculous expectations, such a messenger may look, walk and talk like a normal person, so it requires a bit more insight to recognize him as God's messenger.
