India is one of the places on the earth where monsoon happen. Monsoon means that the majority of rainfall happens during a particular time each year. For India this is from June through September
During summer the Thar dessert in India heats up, leaves a low pressure area and winds with much moisture from the Indian ocean go over the land to fill that area. As they go north, the land goes higher so the clouds condense into rain until they hit the tops of the Himalaya and drop their last moisture in the form of snow.
