Christ never made the statement he was king of the jews, that statement was made by Pilot.
You have to remember where Christ was crucified. He was crucified in Judaea, where the tribe of Judah was located (one of the 12 tribes of Israel). People from that area, were referred to as Jews. Romans were not studied in the scrolls of the Hebrews so they simply called everyone from that region Jews. Later that will cause great confusion as many that claim to be Jews because they are from Judaea are not of the tribe of Judah, nor the house of Israel. Those must be kept separate. Read John chapter 8, where Christ identifies sons of Cain who were claiming to be Jews. Romans call all people from Judaea "Jews" and when those of that area proclaimed Christ king, the Romans simply put 2 and 2 together and called him King of the Jews (In Mockery). The word Jew therefore is simply a loose term to indicate people who lived in Judaea, it in no way indicates all those called Jews are from the tribe of Judah, and John 8 bears this out.
In the book of Luke, you will discover Christ's mother was of the tribe of Levi, of the house of Aaron (priest line of the tribes of Israel). In the book of Matthew you will discover that Mary's husband was from the tribe of Judah and of the house of David (David was the King line over all tribes of Israel), Therefore Christ obtained both titles King and High Priest over the tribes of Israel, and after his death as the sacrifice for our sins for one and all time, he earned those titles over all people. This is the very reason our forefathers would not concede to having Kings in the United States, in their understanding we already had a King over which no man could be greater and under which every man should humble himself ... Christ.
masiah, king of jews. jesus christ, son of God
He said he was the King of all the Jews.
Latin for "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews" is "Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Iudaeorvm" and the acronym for this title is INRI. Latin uses the letter "I" instead of the English "J", and "V" instead of "U" (i.e., Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaeorum). The English translation is then "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews."
Jesus was and is the King of the Jews, as proclaimed by the wise men, (Matthew 2.2), and by Pilate, on Jesus' cross in three languages. (John 19.19,20). But the people who rule this world, (Herod and the soldiers then), think this of Jesus, the everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. "If he is a king, then let us crown him - with thorns!" And Jesus never argued; He is meek and lowly in heart.
The acronyym INRI is not a Roman numeral, Roman numerals represented numbers. the acronym INRI reputedly stood for Jesus Nazareen Rex Judea, essentially Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews
Pilate had a board put on the cross , which said Jesus king of the Jews. This angered the Jews . And they wanted Pilate to write another board saying Jesus said I am the king of the Jews. And Pilate replied . What I have written I have written.AnswerMark 15:26, "The King of the Jews"Luke 23:38, "This is the King of the Jews"Matthew 27:37, "This is Jesus the King of the Jews"John 19:19, "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews"

Jesus king of the jews
Jews...
King of the Jews.
I believe it said, "King of the Jews." The letters, 'INRI' represent the Latin words, 'Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Iudaervm' (the latin uses I instead of J, and v instead of u) which means 'Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews'.
This is Jesus "King of the Jews".
Because it read 'King of the Jews'. The Pharisees (Jewish priests who had Jesus crucified) wanted it changed to "I say I am the king of the Jews" but Pilate would not.
The Jews didn't call Jesus by any name that means king as he would not have been qualified to have been a king by the fact of his lack of lineage.
There aren't really facts on it, but it did say 'Jesus, King of the Jews.'
