Why is LG LW5000 not available in the US I have checked everywhere for this and it is nowhere to be found?

The LW5000 series is available only in Canada. There are many models of LG televisions around the world sold only in particular markets. Because of licensing for online content providers, many models in Canada are slightly different from the the US and other country counterparts. The US versions usually have more online offerings (Hulu, for example).

In addition, the numbering system is different from elsewhere in the states and it's the LW5300 you want. The model LW5000 is known as the LW5000, but it's the LW500S. The LW5000 was prepared for launch in the states however they have stepped away from the release of this model and they're now releasing the LW5300. This model is basically the same model as the LW5000 with slightly improved features but with similar pricing. This TV would fall under the lower tier models. Save
