As the seasons change the jet stream and the flow of air currents change direction Our weather in New York at this time of year comes from Canada and Arctic bring us some cold winters. Last winter 2011-2012 was mild.
Because the Earth is tilted, New York and other locations in the northern hemisphere receive the sun's rays at a more oblique angle, resulting in less energy (heat) striking the surface for area unit.
