It's not, necessarily. A lot of how dangerous drinking is depends on how often and much is consumed, and whether the consumer has any underlying health issues such as a compromised liver, Diabetes, or a genetic predisposition toward Alcoholism. Smoking, on the other hand, is ALWAYS bad for your health, and the health of those around you. The lungs are designed to do one thing: facilitate the delivery of oxygen into the blood stream. Any time you introduce any foreign substance into the bloodstream, and especially via aspiration, it's not good for you.
Is it? It depends whom you ask - the mercenary, rabid Anti-Smoking fanatic or the equally mercenary, rabid Anti-Alcohol fanatic. But then ask an equally mercenary, rabid Anti-Obesity fanatic...........

Most definitley.
I use them and I believe they are safer than tobacco. I feel fine and my cravings have ended.
Skoal is dip, or chew. If you are referring to something like beechnut or redman, actual chewing tobaccos, it's not really safer, just used a little differently. Some might say that chewing tobacco is a little less harse than dip.
Chewing tobacco is much safer for health than is smoking it. The primary danger is that it increases the risk of mouth cancer.
Hookah smoking is not safer than cigarette smoking. The tobacco is no less toxic in a hookah pipe, and the water in the hookah does not filter out the toxic ingredients in the tobacco smoke.
