Oak tree's lose their leaves in the winter, which cuts down on water loss and prevents the leaves from icing up and killing the tree Hope it helps,i guess not though xx

oak trees have roots to collect water. they have leaves to catch sunlight to make photosynthesis and to make its own food. they are big and strong to stand all weathers. they grow tall so they can compete with other trees around them to gain more sunlight.
