Batman could be seen as a controversial figure for several reasons. In the mid 20th century, Batman was held up as an example of how comic books were corrupting the youth because of the supposed homosexual undertones of his relationship with his ward, Dick Grayson. This controversy, however, has largely faded to the realm of history.
Batman also draws controversy because his actions could be viewed as unethical. For example, in the book Batman and Philosophy: The Dark Knight of the Soul, one essay considers the possible moral implications of Batman training young boys to fight crime. Many depictions of Batman lean much more toward the violent, dark side of the character rather than the campy, light side of the 60s TV show. Unlike Superman, many of Batman's actions fall into an ethical gray area, which could lead to controversy, especially over whether or not Batman is an appropriate hero for young children.
The highest valued Batman toy is ''Batman quarter 1/4 scale figure'' by Enterbay and ''Mego Batman'' by Mego (which is more like a doll) but was actually the first Batman figure ever made.
