The true question is why shouldn't we prevent bullying? Have you ever been bullied yourself? Bullying causes results such as depression, cutting, insecurity, and sometimes even one's suicide. it's one of those problems that even you can help make change in. If we can prevent bullying, the world would be somewhat of a better place.
It is very important to abolish bullying in school coz it should be a rule and it can occur to be dealt with the police
Cause kids can't harden up these days.
too big of a problem :p
peace out
If the bullys are afraid of something they will act tough. Also, they might enjoy watching people fear them.
Yes its a big problem, it affects child and their education.
To the police
Bullying was a big problem thousands of years before I was born, bullying was a big problem when I was in grade school, bullying will be a big problem thousands of years after I am dead. Nothing has changed, nothing will change. Bullying is a part of human nature. As long as we are humans, bullying will always be a big problem. What has changed is there has been an increasing awareness of the serious, sometimes irreparable, damage that bullying does to its victims. Often changing their entire lives in unanticipatable directions. When I was in grade school, being bullied was usually just considered a harmless right of passage, part of normal socialization and play! But "play" that affects you in such a way that the kids you felt were your best friends 15 minutes ago have suddenly become ugly terrifying nonhuman monsters that you MUST try to find some way to kill to protect yourself; is not harmless! (I'm sorry if the bluntness of that last statement upsets you, but that was my personal experience with bullying; many times. I hated what bullying could do to my mind more than I hated the bullies doing it. Fortunately for both me and the bullies, I never did find some way to kill any of them)Perhaps with luck that awareness may allow some control of the problem of bullying, but I very much doubt that effect will be very big.
The most common questions asked about Bullying are: "What is school bullying? What are the consequences of school bullying? What can a school community do about bullying? What can teachers do about classroom bullying? What can students do about school bullying? What can parents of young children do about school bullying? What can parents of teens do about school bullying? What can community partners do about school bullying? How can a caring adult work with a bully? How can a school community promote an anti-bullying climate? What is cyber bullying? What can parents do to promote safe use of the internet?"
Good preventions for stopping child bullying would be to address the problem directly, by speaking with the parent of the bullying child or by going to a school administration (if the victim or victims were bullied on school grounds).
I seriously doubt that you can go anywhere in the world (be it a school or not) and there not be ANY bullying at all. Some schools are better than others, though, about taking care of the bullying.
You put a bunch of enormous eight graders who are in their growth spurt, and little fifth graders. SO why does everyone wonder WHY bullying is a problem in middle school. It is easy for the big 8th grader to push around the little 5th or 6th grader, because the 5th or 6th grader is too scared to stand up for themselves.
i attend a catholic school and in my school there is no real bullying. if there is it is not tolerated! that is just my school though and the bigger school you get im sure there is more of a chance of bullying happening.
School bullying is a social problem that impacts all of society. It is certainly something social workers would want to get involved in. Bullying contributes to depression and suicide in teens and makes it harder for the victim and those distracted by the bullying to learn. School bullying is likely a symptom of things wrong with society as a whole such as intolerance, a hatred of individuality, and excessive commercialization of society.
