Cyberbullying is not allowed on Answers.com.

Not only is cyberbullying against the rules and the Terms of Use on Answers.com, but it is also against the law.

Answers.com has a special team of Supervisors called Vandal Patrol. These people patrol the website in real-time and deal with anything that should not be here, such as cyberbullying, and deal with the people who committed the offence.

However you have to bear in mind that there are just over 1,000 international Supervisors here at Answers dealing with millions of international visitors a day. So there are some things which will slip through their fingers. In that case, if you spot something that should not be on Answers.com, such as cyberbullying, you are encouraged to report it to us.

You can report things using any one of these methods:

  • Click the flag which appears on the top of the page next to the question.
  • Click "Recent Site Activity" on the left toolbar and look for someone who is currently online with the tag (Supervisor) in their username, go to their profile and send them a message with the details and links.
  • Go to the community forum, also found on the left toolbar, and report the issue in the relevant forum section.
  • Send an email to WikiAnswers@Answers.com with the details and links.

If you have received an abusive personal message on Answers.com, either:
  • Report it directly to a vandal Patrol Supervisor, who can be identified by the Vandal patrol badges on their profiles.
  • Click the "Report Abuse" button which is above the message itself.

It is important that you report cyberbullying as quickly as you spot it, so we can deal with it promptly. Answers.com prides itself in dealing with all reported cases of cyberbullying to the best of its ability as quickly as it comes to the attention of a Supervisor, unlike out main competitor, Yahoo Answers, which is rife with bullies.

Answers.com is also home to a specialist program designed for teens, called WikiAnswers Influential Teens, where professional members of staff provide them with information and skills such as how to avoid cyberbullying, how to deal with cyberbullying, how to be safe online and so on.
