Ecology is just a branch of Biology that deals with interactions between organisms and their environment. Biology is sometimes called the "study of life" - which is an incrediblyall-encompassing topic. Therefore, Biology is separated into different parts-- or branches-- in which life is studied in different areas. Ecology happens to deal with life in its respective environment and its effects. It too is a relatively general subject, with sub-branches of its own.
