Homeostasis means your body regulates things like temperature, for example. If our (or any animal's) body did not maintain hoemeostasis, then everything would be out of controll, and we would get very sick, very fast.

An approximate constant temperature is good for chemical reactions to be stable. Mammals can run at will; reptiles can run once they heat up.

Are whales coldblooded?

No. All whales are warmblooded mammals which maintain a constant body temperature.

How does temperature affects the body?

For mammals very little, except for the energy expenditure required to maintain a constant internal temperature.

What kind of animal maintains a body temperature in cold and warm climates?

Endotherms maintain a constant body temperature.Eg:-mammals

What helps mammals that are endotherms?

All mammals are endotherms. They are able to regulate their body temperature and maintain homiostasis. Say the temperature drops to a chilling 30°F, their body will try to keep them warm by staying at a constant temperature.

Do platypuses maintain a constant body temperature?

Yes. Being warm blooded mammals, not cold-blooded reptiles, platypuses do maintain a constant body temperature.

Can mammals maintain a constant body temperature?

YES A CAT DOES USE A LITTER TRAY :) and your question answer is yes of course thank you :D bye :(

What animals are warm blood?

All mammals and Birds are warm blooded for example humans dogs seals etc

Are mammals examples of homeostasis?

A mammal's ability to maintain it's internal body temperature is an example of homeostasis. Without the ability to maintain a constant internal temperature, animals would quickly die.

Is a Siberian husky a mammal and why?

Yes. All dogs are mammals. They have a furry coat, maintain a constant body temperature, bear their young alive and feed them on milk.

What would happen if the body could not maintain a constant temperature?

For humans (and mammals in general) it often means death due to hyperthermia, but for reptiles that's normal.

Why smaller mammals often have a higher respiration rate than larger mammals?

this concept states that mammals must expend a significant amount of energy to maintain a constant internal body temperature, animals with larger surface area to volume ratio(smaller mammals) must have higher metabolic rates because they must work harder to maintain that internal temperature. smaller surface area to volume ratio means more heat loss and thus, the more energy it must expend to maintain a constant body temperature. because smaller mammals have larger surface are to volume ratios, they must have higher metabolic rates because they must obtain and expend more energy to maintain the internal body temperature than larger mammals

Are reindeer warm or cold blooded?

Reindeer are mammals. Mammals are homeostatic animals which maintain a warm body temperature.
