I am home schooled on my computer with a program called CAVA (California Virtual Academies) they have a program with k12 an online homeschooling program. With CAVA you have your own teacher, and you have class sessions too where you can video chat with the teacher and other students. Home schooling is more academically challenging. Thats why its a better option then public school.

Public schools introduce the student to the problems and benefits of interfacing with other students, perhaps preparing them for the world. But then this may have its problems too. The best we can say is that everything has its benefits and difficulties.
You get to join all these cool classes, mingle with other people you don't even know... and someday that guys gonna be famous and you're gonna be too!

∙ 12y agoIt can be but in nc the public scools suck! they'er teachen em crap that nobody cares about. Im homescooled and i think its sweet but uknow its 10,000,000,000,000,000 times better than public.
In my deepest opinion, I think public schools are way better.
Children have more of a social life, and make friends.
Also, its a better way to prepare for the future, since in homeschool you can wake up whenever you 'want', but when you have a job, you won't be able to do that.

∙ 12y agoI am homeschooled and I have answered a few questions just like the one that you've asked. Homeschooling is not nessisarily better, but it is easier to concintrate on the work at hand. Our teacher is our mom. She helps us when we are stumped. Homeschooling is fun, but I wouldn't call it better.

Home schooling has its pros and cons. You can give your child a better education than some public schools can offer, but you also take away a majority of the life lessons your child would learn in a regular school. For me, homeschooling was ten times better than the regular school system. I got a ten times better education than the public school system (which is a joke), anyone with half a brain can do better than the public education system. I was also protected from the harshness of the school yard which I am immensely grateful for. And all my life lessons where taught from my mother anyway, all school taught me to do was to swear and have sex with random people. My mother also made sure I never missed out on opportunities to socialize with people I liked. I got all the socializing of a regular high-schooler without all the teasing etc. of the normal school yard and a better education to boot. I think homeschooling is a very good idea and I am speaking as one who has gone through both homeschooling and normal school (til grade 10).

If you mean in the subject of school, I would recommend homeschooling your preschooler (for now at least). Then, maybe by the time they are old enough to go to an elementary school, You can decide either to keep home schooling them or to send them to a public or private school. Also, if you have doubts about homeschooling your child, you should know that it does not make a college less likely to accept a home schooled student than a public or private schooled student. If you feel that your child could get a better education at home, then you should home school them.

Public school is better than homeschooling for some families. I am a homeschooling parent. For the most part, I think homeschooling is a great thing. Most of the families I have seen are very dedicated, do the work with the kids, take their kids out and make sure they are well socialized, and have a lot of fun. However, I have seen a family or two that don't sit down with the kids to do the work or get their kids out of the house to be around friends or are involved in social situations. In these cases, it is probably better for the child to attend regular school.
