HOMOSEXUALITY: A CURSE? Story by:Laith SalimHomosexuality is, by many people and religious groups, a sin. On the other hand, it is also viewed by others as NOT a sin. I believe that everyone has there own choice in defining what "sin" means, in ANY subject. To me... being gay is normal and natural. Many would conclude that it is your choice to be gay - that's not true. Being gay means being happy and joyful. "Gay" is the accepted verb when dealing with the subject matter. But being happy is the last thing homosexuals are these days. They are constantly being tormented and dehumanized by our society For example, there RIGHT to marriage was denied by the United States government many times. Many attempts to overturn the law has been a failure, and gay people, all across the world, feel less than a "normal" person. Now for your question as to why homosexuality is NOT a sin. WHY SHOULD IT BE? Did "gays" hurt you? Did "gays" try to rape you? Did God come down from the havens and ask you to be the prophet of this world-ending, mass-histarial, and viral problem? I don't think so. If anything, the "normal" people hurt them! "Normal" people have stripped away many rights and freedoms that the founding father's of our country have promised with powerful words such as "WE THE PEOPLE" and "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL." The same words that have acted as keys are now acting as shekels Locking us away from freedom, love, and life. The life any "normal" human has. But then again there not humans, are they? I have a gay friend who tells me all the time weather he should still love and believe in god. He said once... "I'm going to go to hell if there is a god. How could i love him if he made me what i am. I can't change. I didn't even have sex yet. Holding myself from sex is one thing... but holding myself from looking and not being attracted is another. I mean, I've prayed and prayed... but nothing happened. I ASKED TO CHANGE... but i didn't. I'm so scared of going to hell. I don't want to go to hell. I'm sick of people judging me. I'm sick of judging myself." I said "You don't have to. There's nothing wrong with who you are. Also, i DO think there is a god... but i DON'T think he's putting you in hell for being who you are." My friend killed himself last month because of people who ask stupid questions such as this. Listen... the average person lives to about 70-years-old in the United States. We have no money (as in all of us.) We have no alien species (superman) coming to save the day. We only have each other. With the way the world is today... we won't even have that. The end!
