Hydro-electric power is a renewable resource. The definition of 'hydroelectric' is hydro or water used to generate electricity. It is said that the same amount of water that is on earth now is the same amount that was on earth about 5 billion years ago because of the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation etc.) thus causing it to be renewable after use.
Hydro-electric power has a considerably lower output level of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) than fossil fuel powered energy plants and it is renewable because you can continuously use it and it will not run out. The water will continue to fall as rain, fill the dams and generate electricity.
it is inexhaustible
Because it's renewable, and environmentally-friendly. =)
There are so many of these where to begin. All of these may be used in the future or are now in use, solar energy, wind energy, geothermal power, and hydroelectric power.
While a little rust from the turbines is released it is general considered a clean source of power.
Hydroelectric power is used all the time. It has been estimated that hydroelectric power is responsible for up to 20% of the worlds electricity. A large percent of this from China.
Yes, it is.
"Water" is not a renewable resource, however hydroelectric power using water is.
yes because its a renewable resource
Petroleum
Yes solar power is considered to be a renewable resource because the sun rays don't run out.
solar energy. Solar energy is derived from the sun's rays and can be continuously harnessed for electricity generation through solar panels. It is considered a renewable resource because the sun is an abundant and constant source of energy.
Hydro-power presently is the most prevalent renewable power source, primarily as hydroelectric generation.
Hydroelectric power is renewable. The rivers that provide this power continue to flow; they are continually renewed by rain, and do not get used up. Hydroelectric energy is considered a renewable resource. The rain falls, runs into creeks, then rivers, then the ocean, where it evaporates then falls as rain. Hydroelectic is considered a renewable source of energy. Renewable. It is in fact renewable Renewable because with the amount of water in rivers/seas, there will be power for a long time. it is a renewable resource Renewable Yes, as long as the river keeps flowing, the mill wheel (or electric turbine) will keep turning +++ All very true, but the fly in the ointment is the over-use of the reservoir as a water-supply, reducing the flow downstream. The power-station itself simply returns the water it has borrowed, but in many places now large hydro-electric projects have been ill-used as water supplies.
Iraq has abundant renewable resources in the form of hydroelectric power and non-renewable resources in the form of natural gas and oil. The resource that produces the most income for Iraq is oil. Hydroelectric power and natural gas resources are important, as using these energy sources within Iraq, permits more oil to be exported.
it is inexhaustible
Hydroelectric Power (Water), wind, Solar (sun) and geothermal energy are examples of RENEWABLE resources. Nature will always have more of it - it is a resource that will not run out. There are some more comlex ones. but these are the basic renewable and "green" resources.nationalatlas.gov provides some good info on Renewable Resources found in the United States. In the search box type "renewable resources" and a link should pop up.
Any source of energy that we cannot reproduce in a reasonable amount of time is considered nonrenewable. For instance, oil is considered to be nonrenewable because humans cannot make more of it. The opposite, renewable resources, are things like wind power, solar power, and hydroelectric power.
