Hawaii's latitude is 18° 55′ N to 28° 27′ N , (The Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere is at 23°26′13.7″) it is one of the southerly most states of the US and partly tropical (in the Tropics). Being closer to the equator means it gets more sunlight energy not matter what the season and this is warmed by the sun more than more northerly US states.
